For 8 dollars or so, not bad...... The pictures are nice, but this is not high quality obviously. I would prefer hardcover as another reviewer mentioned because I don't think this will be durable once my child gets to it. He already drooled on it and bent the pages, but keep in mind my son is only 6 months old. What bugs me the most is that my version has two blank pages before I see the inside title page which looks a little odd to me and more importantly that Amazon shipped the book with an oxyclean liquid cleaner I had also bought and there was a minor spill on book thanks to that dumb packaging mistake. However, not worth the hassle to return but I will think twice when I order books together with other items on Amazon. Overall, buy the book for the price and because the song/ story is cute, but I don't think is worthy to be given as a gift alone etc.

Perfect for a parent who loves Jerry Garcia! Really it's great for any kid, but I'm especially biased, being a big fan of Garcia/Grisman tunes.
bought this for our granddaugterh with an adorable bear. Planned a Teddy Bear Picnic Birthday party around this book....bear hunt, bear bean bag toss, bear cake, & other cute embellishments.
This was my favorite song as a child growing up in the 40's/50's and wanted to share with my 5 year old grandson. We had fun with it. I was disappointed in that I anticipated receiving a disc of Jerry Garcia singing as a purchase several years ago for another grandson contained one. While this is advertised as from Jerry Garcia, he really has nothing to do with this book. Fortunately, I was able to get the music off the computer.
Growing up my brother and I used to listen to a song called the Teddy Bears Picnic...which was based on this book. I love the book, and the pictures. My students love this book too!
Great book, it would be better if it came with the MP3 down load or CD but you can easily find the song on YouTube. I just sing it to my son now but the video is good to learn the rhythm of the book as it isn't your typical nursery rhyme rhythm.
From the description, thought this book came with the cassette. Opened the envelope, a book....no cassette.
This is a great book to read to children before they go to bed. They should have a recording of the music to go along with it. Children love this book
