As I have written many times before I ADORE Donna Grant's Dark Sword/Dark Warriors Series.. I use both terms because this series started off as The Dark Sword Series, taking place in Medieval Scotland but when the characters jumped to current day.. the series changed names.. It's the same series *grins* sorta.. A new day, A new evil and new challenges to overcome BUT the same warriors I first fell in love with.

The warriors have had a year of peace, since they destroyed both Deidre and Declan life is good.. There is even talk about having children. But the warriors want to wait until the spell that binds their gods has been found. They want to offer their wives a normal life, one without war and the fear of a bloody death hanging over their heads. They are sure it is only a matter of time before they can all be free..

There is so much more than meets the eye going on in this book. The subplots have subplots.. twists and turns and one really good cry. Devastation hits the warriors when the worst possible thing that could happen, happens.. They discover that a new evil has risen and an old one has been released!!

Arran MacCarrick has been sent to find the scroll, finally they think they have located it. All he needs to do is access the scroll and without anyone knowing, abscond with it *grins* sure no problem. He is thrilled to go on this mission. While Arran has no problem with his god, he kinda likes the perks and can deal with the negatives.. but he does know his friends want more from life. He volunteers to take a trip to an archeological site and see if the scroll is there. Something to appease his god and get him out of the house..er castle.

Dr Veronica "Ronnie" Read finds things. Her digs are renown for finding the best stuff.. for producing rare and unique finds and oh yeah for making money for the investors. It's almost like she has the magic touch *grins*. Able to rely only on her best friend and her mentor Ronnie has secluded herself from men. Never trusting them and has managed to give those who attempt to gain her favor a cold shoulder . Until a sexy scot with an impressive.... charisma shows up on her dig.

Things start happening when Arran and Ronnie meet.. The very air sizzles..

Ronnie knows there is something special on her site and Arran realizes that their is magic all around them. More powerful and older than anything he has ever seen. Not sure what it is but he does know there is something odd going on. Determined to protect Ronnie he insists on staying by her side.. only ro find that, that is not going to be all that easy. Avoiding their mutual attraction is all but impossible. Discovering Ronnie is mie makes it just that much harder. Arran has found that special Druid who rocks his world and he will do anything to ensure her safety first then her happiness..

Ronnie has to learn to not only rely on another person but to trust him. She is sure Arran is basically a pretty decent guy but there is that nugget of doubt she holds on to that could destroy them both. I loved the fact that Ronnie could accept that she was a Druid, that Arran had a god inside him but didn't trust him to be a decent guy.. It just goes to show you what one bad relationship can do to a woman.

Arran amazed me.. he wound his way into my heart and may just be taking Broc's place as my favorite warrior.. I know!! He doesn't even have wings.. His capacity for love is so vast and so wonderful what woman wouldn't just collapse at his feet?

Ok, the plot.. great new evils devised.. wonderful development of some of the evil ones. Donna leaves the reader with serious questions about some of them... and a sincere dislike for others. There is also a great deal of foreshadowing going on.. I know Charon's book is going to be a killer!!

I must say.. this book was intense, intoxicating and totally amazing!! I opened it up and the next time I looked up I had finished the book!! A Great read. If you haven't begun this series yet.. do so!!

This series is fantastic and I just can't get enough. The history, the magic, the hot hot warriors and the gentle Druids makes this a series with everything. With this book there is great sadness and a twist I did not see coming. The romance between Aaron and Ronnie is emotional and a story to make peace with the past. Love it!!!
Have followed since first book with characters starting in 1400's to current day and have enjoyed each book from this author so far....waiting to e-releases of newer versions. Enjoyed being taken back in time, author's great description of "lay of the land", surroundings and characters.
Just a really great read for enjoyment and escape...........

Loved this love story between Arran MacCarrick, an immortal warrior with a primeval God inside him and Dr. Ronnie Reid, a world-renowned archeologist and a druid. Arran is on a mission to find an artifact that will bound his and all the warrior's gods. Where better to find said artifact than at an archaeological dig led by Ronnie. Sparks fly as they get to know each other. Can't wait to read the next book. Grant is an awesome writer who makes her characters true to life.
Well, I have to say, Donna Grant has outdid herself here. This was such an amazing and emotional book. I think this was one of my favorites so far. Midnight's Kiss was filled with so much action, suspense, humor, emotions and romance. It had so many ups and downs and twists from beginning to end.

First I absolutely loved the 2 main characters Arran and Ronnie. Two very strong personalities but instead of clashing they were perfect together.

I love the new evil that was introduced. This definitely proved to be more of a challenge to the Warriors than Deirdre and Declan did. It will make for more exciting, interesting and very anticipated future Dark Warrior novels.

As usual Donna brought in ALL the Highlanders and Druids we have grown to love. This was such an emotional book and it was a great opening for future installments. The Dark Warriors world continues and I can't wait for the next already.

Midnight Kiss is the fifth book in the Dark Warrior's series, but not one time has the storyline slowed down, it keeps getting better and better. The old evil has finally been defeated by our wonderful warriors and it was quite a battle. For a year they have enjoyed their victory, but the natives are getting restless feeling they must fine the spell to bind their Gods so they can have a real future with their mates. Arran volunteers to infiltrate an archaeological dig that could uncover an object that may contain the spell. He meets Dr. Victoria Reid (Ronnie) and there is an instant attraction between them, but they both have very deep trust issues. As they attempt to overcome these issues, a new prophesy is discovered which states there is a bringer of doom, a new evil comes to light and some old and evil monsters are released. The love that develops between Arran and Ronnie is one that stays with you long after the story ends. As the warriors fights this new evil, devastation hits, one that could affect all the warriors forever. This new evil is bad, if not worst then the previous evil that the warriors have fought. I look forward to the next installment in this storyline of the Dark Warriors and never want this series to come to an end.
